Mini Banana Bread Loaves
Ever buy just a few too many bananas or you forget that you bought bananas and by the time you remember they have started turning to the dark side? Well you're in luck, here's a gluten free banana bread recipe that is simple and delicious.
Recently, I've started baking in Pyrex mini fridgies instead of a large loaf pan because I can pop them out of the fridgie, into a Ziploc baggie and take along with me. It's the perfect amount for a one person snack in the morning with your coffee or to tide you over in the afternoon.
As always tt of course starts with the perfect piece of Pyrex....

Gluten Free Lightened Up Banana Bread
(recipe courtesy of Skinny Taste. com)
Ingredients:
• 7 ripe medium bananas, mashed
• 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
• 2-1/2 cups Bob's Red Mill gluten free flour (all purpose or brown rice)
• 1-1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 4 tbsp butter, softened
• 1 cup light brown sugar (unpacked)
• 4 large egg whites
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• baking spray
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray two 8x5 inch nonstick loaf pans with baking spray.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt with a wire whisk. Set aside.
In a large bowl cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add egg whites, bananas, apple sauce and vanilla, and beat at medium speed until thick. Scrape down sides of the bowl.
Add flour mixture, then blend at low speed until combined. Do not over mix.
Pour batter into loaf pans and bake on the center rack for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the pan cool at least 20 minutes to bring it to room temperature before slicing.

Fashion is a trend, Style is within a person: Oscar de la Renta
One of my fashion highlights of living in the treasure hunting world happened last year. When I go out on a hunt there are always a few elusive high end pieces that are on my wish list that I hope to someday stumble upon. Oscar de la Renta pieces were not on that list but when I came across this mint condition, vintage faux fur cropped jacket designed by him I couldn't just leave it. I tried it on and by some miracle it fit me. I had it cleaned and debated listing it, I haven't and now I've decided to keep it because I know it was a piece that he actually had a part in designing, and it's just so unique.
For fun, I searched Etsy to see what other sorts of Oscar de la Renta pieces were out there here's a sampling of what I found that flowed together into an outfit I would personally wear.
As The Lady and The Librarian posted on her facebook page on Tuesday, "May Oscar de la Renta rest in peace. His legacy of couture will continue to provide elegant, sophisticated pieces for generations to come".

Because I'm all about the Brooch....
Many women are intimidated and confused about how to rock a vintage brooch. I am often approached by women who say, "I inherited brooches from my grandmother but I'll never wear them" or they simple say...."Does anyone wear brooches anymore?" To which I answer, "Yes!"
And Fall is actually the perfect time to go glam with one...or maybe even a few.
Now that you are inspired, here are few pretties from our Etsy Shop to help you complete your perfect Vintage Meet Modern Look

- 1/4 cup light-brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter, melted

#onthursdaysweshop
The internet has a pretty amazing way of bringing people together. On a warm September weekend, two vintage vendors, acquainted online, met by chance in person. Both were goal diggers and were selling at a two-day market in Wicker Park, Chicago. One polished and peddled the sparkly pretties, and the other washed and
dried the home goods and home decor. It was that moment of feeling like you just met someone you had known your entire life. Our lives were forever altered.
#onthursdaysweshop came about on a buying trip to a rural boutique. While waiting on a client at our buying appointment, we poked around the store and found a charming tea towel embroidered with the phrase, "Thursday, we shop". We of course had to take
a picture with the framed up towel for our social media outlets because, after all, it was
a Thursday, we were shopping, and, well, it
seemed like a perfect hashtag.
#onthursdayswehop is the thrill of collecting and exploring
our ever-changing personal style. It's fashion, it's home decor, it's our
relationships, it's our life....
