Vintage Pyrex Ain't Just For Mixing In

The challenge was, fresh pink tulips and how to make a unique spring centerpiece. You know not just trimming the tulips and using a Ball mason jar or a boring vase.  May we present, yet another way to use vintage Pyrex in your home.  All you need is fresh flowers of your choice, a vintage flower frog to keep the stems straight and a Pyrex mixing bowl of your choice. Viola, a simple and unique centerpiece for your Easter table or to add some spring to your dining room.

Wedding Wednesday: Bachelorette Party Edition

It's customary when you are invited to a bachelorette party that you bring the bachelorette a gift.  The norm is to bring her some kind of lingerie and or racy underpants.  Pretty much every girl likes pretty under things but let's branch out, expand our horizons and try something else. A bit more of a surprise when she opens up that gift bag instead of reaching in and showing off another silky slip set before heading out on the nights adventure.

Here are a few vintage ideas for the bachelorette:

Orgasm Book available at Sfuso Stuffs
1920's Silk Kimono available at Pretty Little World Vintage
Gold Chain Mail Handbag available at Vintage Meet Modern
How to Keep Your Husband apron available at Fugitive Kat Creations

It's 5 o'clock Somewhere

The weather here in Chicago is far from summer like, and we were feeling the urge for something summery and a cocktail. Viola may we present to you a Pimm's Vintage Cup.

You will Need:
Sliced Strawberries
Sliced Cucumber
Sliced Orange
Few sprigs of Fresh Mint
7-UP or Sprite
Pimm's No. 1

To Make:
Fill Glass with 4-6 Ice Cubes
Add mint leaves, Cucumber and Fruits. The amount is totally your preference.
Fill glass halfway with Pimm's No. 1
Top off glass with 7-Up or Sprite.
Stir and Sip.

We prefer to serve our cocktails in vintage barware, because we all know things just taste better when they are served on/in pretty things.  Gold High Ball Glasses Available at Junk in da Trunk Girls.

Wedding Wednesday: Muff Bouquet

On this Wedding Wednesday, let's discuss Muffs. Ya, not those kind, get your mind out of the gutter. Winter is still hanging on in parts we are writing from so hopefully this will be the last winter themed wedding Wednesday. The idea of doubling the functional warmth and accessory of a muff as a bouquet is pure genius. By pinning or wrapping flowers to it or around it merges both beauty and function, our favorite collaboration! Fur and Flowers, sounds like it's probably an adult film but they do work together.  The muff in Sfuso Stuffs shop inspired this post.

National Pancake Day

I'm not sure if national pancake day is really just a thing for IHOP or if it is officially for everyone.  I choose today though to make it about everyone and celebrate in my own way. A gluten free short stack with sprinkles and drizzled powdered sugar glaze way.

You can celebrate today also, all you need is your favorite Pyrex mixing bowl, pre-mixed or create your own mix pancakes, two eggs, milk, a whisk, sprinkles and powdered sugar. Viola instant happiness.

If you choose to not cook your own pancakes, you could always hit up Ihop, they are offering free short stacks from 7am-10pm at most locations today. Call ahead to see if your location is offering pure deliciousness. Or you could hit up your favorite local breakfast spot as well and order pancakes and support a local business.

Simple Glaze Recipe:
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp. Almond Milk
1/2 Tsp. Water
Whisk together and drizzle over pancakes and add more sprinkles. Enjoy!
